Kalski greben

This peak is not difficult if you scale it from the south. Southern trail comes up from Krvavec, which is a very popular skiing resort. The trail from north, which leads up there from the pass Kokrsko sedlo, is a bit rougher. Immediatelly above the pass, there's a rather vertical section. If you challenge this stretch with success, you will be OK all the way to the summit. Depending on your starting point, plan 4 to 5 hours to reach the summit.

A view from the top, and from almost entire trail while going up, is what makes Kalski greben special. It is a rather lonely mountain that reaches far and high above the surrounding plains in the south and southwest. Because of this it appears to dominate when viewed from below. If you look to the other side, towards north, you will see all the highest mountains in the range: Kocna, Grintovec and Skuta. They seem so close, almost reachable by hand.

So let's start with a view from the top. You can see Kocna and Grintovec in the back.

This picture was taken not far from Krvavec. To reach the top of Kalski greben from this spot, you must first cross the ridge in the background. First up, then down. And then it starts going up again all the way to the top. You'll be there in 3 hours.
